The Heart of the Matter ~ a three hour day
In every good story we hear . . .something has to happen. The plot has a beginning . . . middle . . . and end… and along the way, lessons get learned, tables get turned, someone is changed. We will work on crafting that good story and finding the nugget of truth. We will discover story telling not as a memorized monologue, but as a crafted “known” narrative that is expressed from the heart and connects straight to the listener. We will also explore performing, stage presence, the use of space and how those techniques can strengthen your impact and bring you closer to the audience.
I hope to start my First Speak workshops in the new year:
First Speak ~ a four week workshop
We will meet once a week for a deeper experience, where participants will craft a 10-12 minute personal story based on the elements above in “Heart of the Matter”. At the end of the four weekly sessions at my home, there will be a matinee show at a performing space, where stories can be shared with family and friends. I guantee you will make life long friends during this event. Maximum of 6 people $125
All led by Shay Knorr
Some things former students have said about Shay:
"Telling my story allowed me to finally access a part of me I had been needing to understand and accept for a long time. This awakening sparked a journey of healing and transformation in me that's still unfolding. I'm in awe of how the sharing of our stories connects us to ourselves and each other with such compassion and love. Thank you, Shay -- my heart has grown thanks to the openness of yours". “Shay’s First Speak storytelling workshop…moving, connecting, healing" Diane Allen - Speaker
“Shay’s workshops helped me grow leaps and bounds as a storyteller. I went from flowery and hollow to heart-stirring and real. She has the uncanny ability to extract the gleaming detail from a personal story and refine it into gold. Shay not only tackles the “how” of telling stories and moving an audience, but also the deep truths to be found when we are brave enough to share a slice of our life with the world.
We all have good stories within us. Shay Knorr helps make them great.”
