Solo Speak

Personal Story Performance

"'s a human need to be told stories.  The more we're governed by idiots and have no control over our destinies, the more we need to tell stories to each other about who we are, why we are, where we come from and what might be possible'

~Alan Rickman

I have no workshops scheduled at the moment

But here is what they are... Beginner to Advanced Levels

The Heart of the Matter ~ a three hour day

In every good story we hear . .  .something has to happen. The plot has a beginning . . . middle . . . and end… and along the way, lessons get learned, tables get turned, someone is changed. We will work on crafting that good story and finding the nugget of truth.  We will discover story telling not as a memorized monologue, but as a crafted “known” narrative that is expressed from the heart and connects straight to the listener. We will also explore performing, stage presence, the use of space and how those techniques can strengthen your impact and bring you closer to the audience.

First Speak ~ a four week workshop

We will meet once a week for a deeper experince, where participants will craft a 10-12 minute personal story based on the elements above. At the end of the four weeks, there will be a matinee show where stories can be shared with family and friends. Maximum of 6 people

 All led by Shay Knorr

A couple of things former students have said about Shay:

"Telling my story allowed me to finally access a part of me I had been needing to understand and accept for a long time. This awakening sparked a journey of healing and transformation in me that's still unfolding. I'm in awe of how the sharing of our stories connects us to ourselves and each other with such compassion and love. Thank you, Shay -- my heart has grown thanks to the openness of yours".                                                                                                                    Marci Wayman - Minister
